This trio only played together once, at Tony Buck's flat in Berlin. The musicians come from long lasting trios (The Necks for Tony Buck, The Thing for Ingebrigt Håker Flaten and "A" Trio for Mazen Kerbaj) and wanted to try yet another trio (MOT stands for My Other Trio). The session was recorded as a demo to present to potential festivals, and was later released as a downloadable album for the Catalytic Sound series.
